DATING YOUR FRIEND’S EX: WHY YOU SHOULD OR SHOULDN’T (PART TWO)

WHY YOU SHOULD PROCEED WITH DATING YOUR FRIEND’S EX Even though it’s risky, but you can proceed with caution, if you find any of the following statements to be true. i.                     YOU’VE GOTTEN YOUR FRIEND’S BLESSING: Call your friend or talk to him/her in person and explain your feelings in details. This will be a lot better than for your friend to find out from an external source (trust me it’s gonna be disastrous). The key is communication because an honest conversation can save a relationship (even if you’re just giving him/her a head’s up and not necessarily asking for permission).   A frank chat is far better than hiding it. Note that: This shouldn’t happen immediately after their breakup. Give it time. ii.                   IF YOUR FRIEND HAS MOVED ON: If the break up ...

DATING YOUR FRIEND’S EX: WHY YOU SHOULD OR SHOULDN’T (PART ONE)

Firstly, I need to clarify that in this context. I am referring to your real close friend not a friend of a friend. Who do we refer to as an “ex”? According to Wikipedia, an ex is someone with whom a person was once associated, in a relationship, marriage or once talked to. It also refers to a guy or girl you once dated or had a romantic relationship with. However, in this context, an ex refers to a former boyfriend or girlfriend, wife or husband.  Take a look at this scenario: Your friend is dating an amazing guy/girl. He/she is quite handsome/beautiful. He/she is like the perfect embodiment of someone you’ve been searching for all your life. You always tell your friend how lucky he/she is to have that guy/girl as his/her partner. Every time you guys hung together, you always got along with your friend’s partner. He/she was so cool and all you kept thinking was “Why can’t I also meet somebody like her?”. Fast forward to few months/years later, they’ve br...

IS TITHING A MATTER OF THE HEART OR COMPULSORY? (PART TWO)

Tithe and the Number 10 Most of us are aware that we as Christians are to give, but many people get hung up on the 10% part of the tithe.   The fact is that God knows we cannot all give an equal amount because we all have different resources, so He gave a percentage ensuring it would equal out. "Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on." Mark 12:41-44 Jesus understood that even though this widow gave a small amount compared to the others, her heart was more giving because she gave a larger percent...
